The Pro-Test Petition: Show your support for medical progress "For far too long a small hardcore segment of animal rights activists have used violence and threats against scientists who use laboratory animals in their quest for new treatments and cures. The Pro-Test Petition gives you the opportunity to show your support for the scientists and your opposition to the use of threats and violence in the ongoing debate over the use of animals for biomedical research.." ... more

Support the kangaroo harvest Says the Kangaroo Industry Association of Australia: "A campaign has been launched in Europe to ask for an EU ban on import of all kangaroo products. A similar campaign last year (2009) saw the EU Parliament ban all seal imports. This can not be allowed to happen to the kangaroo industry. ... As part of our response we have launched our own petition on the same site seeking support for the industry." ... more
Support an Ethically Correct and Strictly Regulated EU [Fur] Industry "Recently, Denmark voted a ban on fox-fur production whilst the Netherlands has proposed a ban on mink-fur production. What is new today is that the only basis for these bans is the ethics. But is there one single definition of ethics?
For years, many scientific and veterinarian reports have shown and confirmed that fur-farming uses responsible practices which are totally in line with the very strict European legislation. This is why, together with our 15 national associations and our 6,000 farmers, EFBA strongly opposes these ban proposals based on an unacceptable and totally arbitrary foundation." ... more
Universal Declaration on the Ethical Harvest of Seals "Help us raise awareness that we, the seal hunting communities, are concerned about animal welfare, balanced ecosystems, the preservation of living species and preserving human ways of life.
While the seal harvest is managed in most countries, we want to inform the public and governments around the world that we are determined to:
1. Establish a common international position on ethical standards for the seal harvest
2. Adopt national codes of ethics and certification of our hunting practices
3. Have a United Nations Universal Declaration on the Ethical Seal Harvest ratified." ... more
POLL: Should PETA have used the first lady's photo in its ad? "(Jan. 6) -- The first lady's office thinks the latest anti-fur ad from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is far from fabulous. PETA has rolled out a campaign in the Washington area that features photos of Michelle Obama, Carrie Underwood, Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks on a poster that declares them "Fur-Free and Fabulous!" The image is also plastered on a van that cruises around the city." ... more
LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN: "Spay & neuter" HSUS "By bombarding the IRS with letters and our elected officials with e-mails, we will call attention to the arrogant practices of the HSUS. We MUST fight back NOW or our battles may be over. It's time we stand up in unison and say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!" We refuse to let those who are guided by misinformation and the lust for power take over our agriculture, wildlife management and ownership and enjoyment of animals." ... more
Oppose Criminalizing Horse Meat "For the sake of the horse, horse people, and animal agriculture, there are many compelling and compassionate reasons for we, the undersigned, to petition the US Congress and the Administration to allow common sense to prevail and to oppose any effort that would make a felon of any horse owner seeking to sell their livestock for salvage value, or to prevent the re-opening of horse processing facilities in the United States." ... more
