Teaching materials for kindergarten through seventh grade

DISCOVER WILD is a series of nine lesson plans providing a stimulating introduction to the world of animals and the ways in which humans and wildlife depend upon each other. Students are called upon to use scientific knowledge and reason in developing views on animals, in particular wildlife, and the importance of ecosystem conservation.

Through an exclusive arrangement with Perfect Solutions, Man In Nature is proud to offer two complete units in PDF format, ready for downloading and classroom use. These units are intended to be used in conjunction with a resource pack available from Perfect Solutions, but can also function to great effect on their own.

For more information on the complete package of DISCOVER WILD materials and their purpose and intended use, read "Introduction / Contents" opposite.

PDF format: The materials offered here are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To download them for reading and/or printing out, it is necessary to have the program Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you do not have this program, it can be obtained free by clicking here.

"Most of us do not have the opportunity to cross paths with a wild Lynx or a Badger. Today, fewer than 3 percent of our citizens engage in agriculture. We have become an urban society living in cities and subdivisions where our only contact with domestic livestock is at the local restaurant or the grocery meat counter. Our only experiences with large mammals are with animals at the zoo, our pets at home, television programs, or books. DISCOVER WILD brings children closer to wildlife by challenging their vivid imaginations through tactile experience."
